Ihre Basis haben diese Bilder häufig auf Fotos oder Filmsequenzen, die Boué mit Aufladung und Verfremdung des Gegenstandes zu einem sehr eigenen Ausdruck bringt. Durch die starke Verwendung des Schwarz erscheinen seine zwischen Silhouette und Plastizität schwankenden Landschaften und Stadtszenarien oft düster. Diese Art der Bearbeitung lässt an die Darstellung von Katastrophen, aber auch an Idyllen denken.
