<p class="Stil24" align="left"><b>Can we believe in reality after
'reality TV' ?<br>
</b>Wie kann man Aufmerksamkeit bekommen in einer Welt, die
übersättigt ist von Bildern, Ideen und Idolen? Ist Intimität noch
möglich, wenn durch Facebook und Twitter jeder Schritt
dokumentiert und eine unkontrollierbare Menge überflüssiger
Informationen kommuniziert wird? Gibt es noch ein Privatleben,
wenn Selbstinszenierung und Selbstvermarktung notwendig sind um
voranzukommen?</p>
<p class="Stil24" align="left">The Pink Exposure Prinzip (das pinke
Zurschaustellungs-prinzip oder P.E.P.) beschäftigt sich mit den
Strategien der Selbstoffenbarung und -darstellung und wie sie das
Innere und Äußere, das private und öffentliche Leben der Menschen
beeinflusst. Die beiden Künstlerinnen Olivia Pils und Kirsty Kross
nähern sich biographisch an das Thema: während Olivia Pils ihre
Projektionen der Gesellschaft nach Außen manifestiert, geht Kirsty
Kross den umgekehrten Weg von Außen nach Innen, wenn sie ihre
eigene Rolle als weibliche Performerin im Pop-Business betrachtet.</p>

<p class="Stil24" align="left">Für THE INSIDE OUTSIDE SHOW wird
Kirsty Kross ihre Arbeit 'Artefacts pertaining to my career in a
Girl Band with a Boy in it', zeigen, eine Installation bestehend
aus Objekten, Zeichnungen und Filmen ihrer Zeit bei 'Team
Plastique'. Die Installation dekonstruiert die Art und Weise wie
Kirsty Kross ihre Künstlerinnen Persona 'Legs Akimbo' bei Team
Plastique vermarktete, um sich auf und außerhalb der Bühne zu
schützen und welche Auswirkungen ihre öffentliche Persona auf
ihren privaten Gemütszustand hatte. Hierbei wird die Gültigkeit
der Selbstdarstellung in der Kunst-und Musikindustrie in Frage
gestellt, sowie das allumfassende Interesse der Gesellschaft für
Tratsch, Biographie und Drama, wie man es in der Regenbogenpresse
und im Reality TV sieht, wo die Wahrheit und Authenzität
manipuliert wird, um mehr Aufmerksamkeit zu bekommen.</p>

<p class="Stil24" align="left">Olivia Pils schafft begehbare
skulpturale Landschaften mit Elementen der Popkultur. Sie schafft
eindringlich verstörende Fantasiewelten, die aus einer Verbindung
zwischen Louise Bourgeois und einem David Lynch Film kommen
könnten und den Metropolenbewohner in einer künstlichen und immer
absurder werdenden Gesellschaft zeigen. Inspiriert durch
Literatur, Ethnologie und wissenschaftliche Utopien entsteht das
erste visionäre Bild im Kopf der Künstlerin und wird vermischt mit
Bildern aus ihrer persönlichen Geschichte. Die industriellen
Materialien und elektronischen Geräte, aus denen die surrealen
Kulissen gebaut sind, weisen durch die Zurschaustellung
überflüssiger und billiger Gegenstände auf das Groteske der
Massengesellschaft. </p>
<p class="Stil24" align="left">Olivia Pils lebt seit 1991 in Berlin.
Sie ist Ethnologin, Sängerin und Performerin experimenteller Musik
unter dem Namen FAKE mistress. Ihre Themen kreisen um (weibliche)
Körper, Gewalt und Dystopie. </p>
<p class="Stil24" align="left">Kirsty Kross ist seit 2001 Sängerin
und Performerin der elektropunk-Cabaret-Band Team Plastique. In
ihrer Kunst beschäftigt sie sich mit Perfektionismus und Dystopie,
sowie mit der Rolle von Frauen in der Musik-und Kunstindustrie.<br>

How
is it possible to gain attention in a world over saturated
with
images, ideas and stars? Is intimacy still possible when
Facebook and
Twitter document an uncontrollable amount of superfluous
information?The
Pink Exposure Prinzip deals with strategies of
self-marketing and
image and how the inner and outer self effects the private
and the
public life of individuals. Both artists Olivia Pils and
Kirsty Kross
deal with the theme through biography- Olivia Pils deals
with how
society's projections are manifested on the outside, whilst
Kirsty
Kross looks at how her public image as a female performer in
the
music industry influenced her private life.<br>
For
The Inside Outside Show Kirsty Kross will show her
installation
"Artefacts pertaining to my career in a Girl Band with a Boy
in
it" which consists of objects, drawings and films from her
time
with the band, Team Plastique. The installation deconstructs
how
Kirsty Kross created her artist persona, "Legs Akimbo" in
order to protect herself onstage and off and how her stage
persona
and role in the band effected her emotionally. In doing so,
the
validity of self marketing in the art and music industry is
questioned, as well as society's fascination with trash,
biography
and drama as seen in the tabloid media and reality TV in
which the
truth and authenticity is manipulated in order to gain more
attention.<br>
Olivia
Pils creates moving sculptural landscapes with elements from
Popular
Culture. She creates eerie, disturbed Fantasy Worlds
reminiscent of
Louise Bourgeois and the films of David Lynch in which
reality is
increasingly distorted. Inspired by literature, ethnology
and utopia
the vision is mixed with the fantasies of the artist as well
as her
personal biography. The industrial materials and electronic
devices
that are built into the surreal world speak of the excessive
and
cheap objects of grotesque mass consumption.<br>
Olivia
Pils has been living in Berlin since 1991. She is an
Ethnographer,
Singer and Performer of experimental music under the name
FAKE
MISTRESS. Her work deals with the themes of the female body,
violence
and dystopia.<br>
Kirsty
Kross has been a singer and performer with the electropunk
Cabaret
Band Team Plastique since 2001. Her artwork deals with
perfectionism
and dystopia, as well as the role of women in the music and
art
industries. </font></font>
