Lovers' Eyes“ präsentiert
Walden Kunstaustellungen die
Serien „Berlin Series“ und „
Levitation“ sowie weitere
aktuelle Arbeiten der
Fotokünstlerin Julia
Murakami. Ihre Werke
verstehen sich als visuelle
Erkundung einer verloren
gegangenen Zeit. Ob
festgehalten als bühnenhafte
Inszenierung oder Kosmos
sonderlicher Mischwesen:
Dargeboten werden
voyeuristische Einblicke in
eine in der Psyche
verankerten Welt. Versteckte
Referenzen zwischen den
Arbeiten und spielerisch
eingeflochtene„Cameoauftritte“
der Protagonisten verbinden
Julia Murakamis Arbeiten zu
einem einheitlichen
Gesamtwerk.<br>
In behutsam inszenierten
Selbstporträts schlüpft sie
in die Rolle der Bewohner
jener vergessenen Welt.<br>
Während in den <b>“Berlin
Series”</b> die sieben
Todsünden als
biografisch-dokumentarischer
Streifzug durch Berlin neu
interpretiert werden,
thematisiert <b>„Exercises
In Levitation“</b> die
Suche nach dem Ich im
Metaphysischen.</p>

exhibition "Julia Murakami
- Dwell in Lovers' Eyes",
Walden Kunstaustellungen
presents the series
"Berlin Series" and
"Levitation" as well as
further current works by
the photo artist Julia
Murakami. Her works are a
visual exploration of a
lost time. Whether
captured as a stage-like
staging or a cosmos of
peculiar hybrid beings:
voyeuristic insights into
a world anchored in the
psyche are presented.
Hidden references between
the works and playfully
interwoven "cameo
appearances" of the
protagonists connect Julia
Murakami's work to a
unified whole work.In
carefully staged
self-portraits she takes
on the role of the
inhabitants of those
forgotten world. While in
the "Berlin Series" the
seven deadly sins as
biographical-documentary
Berlin reinterpreted,
"Exercises In Levitation"
focuses on the search
after the ego in the
metaphysical.</font></p>

again experiencing such a

<p class="Stil27" align="left"><font
color="#666666">Julia
Murakami, was born in
Lucerne, Switzerland. She
spent her early childhood in
New York and Miami before
settling in Germany. Since
moving i.a. to Berlin, she
has immersed herself in many
aspects of diorama art,
photography, paintings and
site specific work.
Influenced by the heroines
and iconic imagery of her
childhood – from “The Wizard
of Oz” to Wonder Woman, from
silent films to Greek
mythology – she grew up on
the crossroads of different
cultural backgrounds.She has
participated in exhibitions
and art fairs in Germany,
Switzerland, Spain, France,
Italy, Czech Republic, USA,
Thailand, and South Korea.
Her works were included in <em>Musée
Magazine</em>, <em>European
Photography </em>and <em>Hospodářské
Noviny </em>along
with Jan Švankmajer,
Abelardo Morell, Sebastião
Salgado and Daido Moriyama.
The <em>art resort magazine</em>
published a special feature
about her ongoing worldwide
art project “Japanese
Guerilla Paparazzi“
documenting site specific
installations in Thailand.</font></p>
