I'm using ldapvi 1.7. The documentation specifies "if a profile is used, it suppresses loading of
the <tt>libldap</tt> configuration files <tt>/etc/ldap.conf</tt>
and <tt>~/.ldaprc</tt>. If you want these files to take effect
anyway, you can set <tt><a href="http://www.lichteblau.com/ldapvi/manual/#parameter-ldaprc">ldaprc</a>:
