[ldapvi] Documented ldaprc option doesn't work

I'm using ldapvi 1.7. The documentation specifies "if a profile is used, it
suppresses loading of the libldap configuration files /etc/ldap.conf and
~/.ldaprc. If you want these files to take effect anyway, you can set
ldaprc<http://www.lichteblau.com/ldapvi/manual/#parameter-ldaprc>:
yes in the profile"

This doesn't work. ldapvi reports "Error: unknown configuration option:
'ldaprc'".

I'm tying to get ldapvi to recognize a self-signed cert and can't find a way
to do this. Any ideas, please?
